Second Guess Farm and µ-µ House needs your help

I have been overwhelmed by the response and encouragement of friends and community members about creating a retirement home and hospice for cats.

There is clearly a need for such a place and I’m glad to be helping my community by simply satisfying my own need to be surrounded by cats.

To make this happen, I would like to solicit some help on two fronts:

  • I need assistance making Second Guess Farm Rescue-Retirement-Hospice into a proper 501(3)(c) organization.
  • I want to add the ability to take in ‘feral’ cats. Safe, long-term housing for cats that can’t be regular pets.

Becoming a charity

I think I can figure this out fairly easily, but input from anyone with experience or suggestions on how to become a charitable rescue organization would be greatly appreciated!

Barn cats

Feral cats are a problem. One solution is TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return). Some of these cats can become decent barn cats. Some just need some patience to get used to people. Some will never be anything but feral cats.

They all deserve to have happy lives.

Like senior and hospice cats, feral cats often can’t be helped by traditional means when they’re caught. They may be euthanized if brought to a shelter.

There are few places for barn cats to go when their lives put them in the paths of people.

I feel that Second Guess Farm could provide a long-term solution to this problem, but I need help creating an adequate outdoor enclosure and shelter for these kinds of cats. They need a safe place where they can just be.

I don’t even know where to begin.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Local people who can help construct things or help me find materials would be awesome. Really, anything at this point.

Any help is appreciated

You can also support me financially on Patreon or Ko-fi (because every little bit helps!).

And, once I’m a real non-profit, that will be a third way to provide support for me and all the cats!
