The Cats (Cast?) of Second Guess Farm: Sage

Bringing Sage home from the animal shelter was when I realized that I wanted to operate a rescue. Poor Sage had spent an entire year at the shelter. For some reason, no one was interested in taking on a friendly 12-year-old cat with no other health problems.

The Cats (Cast?) of Second Guess Farm: Spike

Of the seven cats under this roof, Spike has a most special place in my heart.

Right before Thanksgiving of last year (2018), a call went out for a winter foster or permanent rehoming of this approximately 10-year-old grey cat. Spike is a former feral who has seen some stuff. Welcome to Second Guess Farm

Second Guess has been a great many things in its short existence. At first the goal was to be a sustainable homestead farm growing heritage and heirloom fruits and vegetables, and doing some brewing on the side.

Then time passed.

Now, its goal is to provide a safe home for senior and otherwise homeless cats (while still growing heirloom veggies and doing some brewing).

Sage. The cat that started it all.

I rescued Sage after he sat in the shelter for a full year. At 12 years old, no one was interested in him. Their loss.

Now he’s 15 years old. The youngest cat here is eight. And somehow, they all have names that start with ‘S’.

Check in here for their adventures!
